001 Me, my blog and little trivia
Phew. After two hours of wondering what should this blog be called, cursing my mini laptop into nasty places and fighting against Sandman, I finally managed to come up with half-descent name and something close enough to a proper blog. I'd like to hear any kind of useful hints and tips from you guys to make this blog as reader-friendly as possible. The blog is still under construction as the mind of it’s owner is rather shifty, so bear with me, dear readers.
And on to the topic of the day, me introducing myself and what this blog about. On 28th of October my life changed. I got a long-waited call from my local Rotary club’s President: I had been chosen to be the one they would send abroad for a school year! So, ladies and gentlemen, I now proudly present to you: Emily Hernandez, Rotary’s exchange student, at your service.
I’ve dreamt of becoming an exchange student since 7th grade. I’m Finnish, but Columbian blood also runs through my veins; what's more, both of my parents have worked abroad for several years earlier, so I guess I could say internationality and exploring the world is something inherited. I applied for an exchange student little over a year ago, but because of several things I couldn’t go back then (I’ll tell you more about this on another blog post later, if you like). This time I got lucky and finally I'm making one of my dreams come true.
Oh yeah, I recently got measured and apparently I have grown one centimeter (of height) since the last time, and truth to be told, I might have celebrated that one centimeter more than my 17th birthday! (I have really no idea why did I just tell that little trivia, but let’s chalk it up to my sleepiness.) We’ve always had this little competition with my friend about who’s taller. She’s always been the winner until now – HAH!
Okay, I think it’s
time for me to wrap it up for today and go to sleep. Good night, everyone!
